Tabora Region is one of Tanzania's 30 administrative regions. The region is in the central-western part of the country. With a size of 76,151 square kilometres (29,402 sq mi), the region is slightly larger than Panama (75,417 square kilometres (29,119 sq mi)). In other words, this area is simply huge. Forest reserves cover 34,698 square kilometres (13,397 sq mi) (46 percent of the region), and game reserves cover 17,122 square kilometres (6,611 sq mi) (22 percent of the region).
By far, one of the greatest dangers of visiting this region is from bandits.
